At the International Medieval Congress Leeds, which took place from 3 to 6 July 2023, we organised a session to present our project to an international audience. Under the title “Networks of the Lord’s Prayer: Exploring St Gall’s library”, Johanna Jebe, Isabell Väth and Sven Gröger examined expositions of the Lord’s Prayer from the monastery library of St Gall focussing on networks. Johanna Jebe focussed on the codicological network of expositions over the centuries. Isabell Väth presented literary strategies of expositions that connected audiences with texts. Sven Gröger, lastly, looked at the theological aspects of the material that connected different expositions with each other and, in this way, formed a network of theological thought and deliberation.
With a fruitful discussion, we were able to gain important insights for our project and, hopefully, also make some people take interest in our research. After four days full of exciting lectures, encounters and conversations, we returned to Germany with plenty of new ideas.
